LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE, MISSOURI BAR
This service refers individuals to a lawyer in the individual's
community throughout the state. There is an administrative fee of $20 payable during the
first visit to the lawyer. This fee is returned to The Missouri Bar to help pay the cost
of the service. The service does not make referrals in areas covered by one of the local
lawyer referral services listed above.

There are six legal aid offices throughout the state. These
offices provide free legal services on civil matters to low-income persons who qualify.

This private organization of physicians refers grievances

NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD
Through charges filed against employers or unions, protects the
rights of employees under the National Labor Relations Act, including: Forming, attempting
to form or joining a union; assisting a union in organizing; engaging in a group activity
which seeks to modify wages, hours or conditions; or refusing to do any or all of these
things. Conducts secret-ballot elections so employees may determine whether a union should
represent them for bargaining purposes.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION, MISSOURI DIVISION OF
Investigates complaints against licensed businesses and
individuals. Included in the agency's jurisdiction are accountants, architects, barbers,

PUBLIC DEFENDER
Provides legal services in criminal cases in which the accused
is facing a real possibility of confinement. The accused may be required to contribute to
